Washington Hills 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington, $9
By Great Northwest Wine on July 26, 2015
Best Buy! Goose Ridge near Richland, Wash., one of the most expansive vineyards in the Pacific Northwest, served as the source for the latest consumer-friendly and extremely approachable Cab under this brand that marked its 25th anniversary with this vintage. A bit rustic and Old World, there’s a theme of red plum, Van cherry and cassis that pick up flakes of Herbes de Provence. It’s very light and smooth on the palate with minimal tannins and well-managed oak that make this a nice introductory, everyday Cab — especially at the price.
