Swiss soccer fan Jean-François Pellet, one of the busiest winemakers in the Pacific Northwest, crafted one of the region’s top examples of Sémillon from the 2013 vintage, and he’s matched that beautiful effort with this latest release from Amavi’s three estate vineyards. He continues to lead Les Collines (46%) with nearly equal contributions from Seven Hills and Goff, producing aromas of honeydew melon, honey, white peach, lime and rock dust. His use of 100% neutral French oak adds a layer of toffee and lemon bar to the entry, which quickly gives way to refreshing flavors of Asian pear, white peach and lime flavors. Yellow grapefruit pith and pleasing minerality help describe the finish. Enjoy with halibut, basa or shellfish.
