Idaho winemaker Meredith Smith gets the opportunity to work with Rhone varieties off Sawtooth Vineyard for her rosé program, and circumstances in 2014 prompted her to switch her focus from Cinsault to Grenache (although, this still carries 20% of Cinsault). Smith gives this the appearance of Provence with its veil of pink that leads to winsome florals of dried strawberry, peach and tutti frutti. There’s a nice bit of Rainier cherry skin bite on the entry before the return of strawberries and white peach. The listed residual sugar of 0.9% finishes clean and screams for barbecue chicken or summertime salads.
