L’Ecole No 41 2012 Seven Hills Vineyard Estate Perigee, Walla Walla Valley, $50
By Great Northwest Wine on August 22, 2015
The Clubbs’ partnership in one of Oregon’s most renowned plantings, the 230-acre Seven Hills Vineyard — pays dividends year after year, particular in stellar vintages such as 2012. L’Ecole’s blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (21%), Cabernet Franc (14%), Malbec (5%) and Petit Verdot yields aromas of plum, blackberry, black currant, sweet herbs and chocolate. The drink is bold and chocolaty with nice blackberry, currant and cherries, capped by earthiness, vanilla and milk chocolate.
