Brent Charnley offers award-winning varieties of Madeleine Angevine and Siegerrebe each year, and he also blends them together for this fun and floral off-dry white wine that’s perfect for a picnic, particularly those featuring Dungeness crab and other Salish Sea fare. The nose of lemon verbena, candied ginger, baked pear, dandelion greens and orange zest lead to a pleasing delivery of Bartlett pear, Elberta peach and beeswax. These wines are available on the island both at Lopez Village and Sunday afternoons at the winery, as well as at some Puge Sound farmers markets.
