Lewis-Clark Valley vintner Coco Umiker continues her excellence with this lesser-known Bordeaux variety from Phinny Hill Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills. She blends in Malbec (11%) from Verhey Vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills above the Yakima Valley, which adds a sense of elegance throughout. The theme of red cherry, cassis and raspberry includes a pinch of black pepper and fresh oregano, which gives it a herbaceous charm that appeals to many fans of leafy Cabernet Franc. It’s a rich on the entry, shows refinement on the midpalate and finishes with gorgeous balance and spice.
