Hamilton Cellars 2010 Malbec, Columbia Valley, $30
By Great Northwest Wine on August 28, 2015
This Red Mountain winery combines an opulent, 23-month barrel program of 60% new oak with berries from Conner Lee, Stillwater Creek and Gamache vineyards leads to a nose of medium toast with chocolate-covered cherry, Marionberry, cocoa powder and candela leaf tobacco. The drink features an alluring dark blue fruit profile of blueberry, pomegranate and Western serviceberry. Balanced acidity and tanning makes for good length and a finish of vanilla and black pepper.
