The Parkers first planted near the banks of the Umpqua River in the late 1990s, and this Merlot from those vines is showing pleasing maturity. Aromas of macerated Chelan cherry, poached plum, mocha and herbal tea lead to a mouthfilling and rich delivery of roasted plum, blackberry reduction sauce and cherry skins. Dusty tannins and blueberries lead to a firm structure with lingering juiciness that screams for well-marbled meats or barbecued ribs.
