O•S Winery 2012 Sonas Merlot, Yakima Valley, $25

O•S Winery-Sonas Merlot-Columbia Valley-2012-LabelThe first wine finished by Scott Greer for the Sullivan family is this blend of Dineen, Elephant Mountain and Sheridan fruit that makes for an easy-drinking expression of Merlot. The nose of dark plum, mint, gravel dust and cherry wood leads to an approachable mouth feel of Chelan cherry and plum. Blueberry skin tannin and pomegranate acidity combine to make it a solid sipper.
