The Alexanders continue their relationship to one of Washington’s top winemakers Charlie Hoppes, and perhaps the stat’s most famous vineyards. It leads to aromas of black fruit, Graham cracker, fresh-ground coffee beans, sage, leather an bay rum. On the palate, there’s a rich reward of chocolate-covered pomegranate, blueberry and black currant with notes of clove, black olive and vanilla as acidity wins out over tannin. There’s no distribution for this, so you’ll need to visit the Alexanders’ tasting room along the northern shoulder of the Horse Heaven Hills just south of Red Mountain.
