The Jones family could label this as a Cabernet Sauvignon because it makes up 87 percent of the bottling, and this blend of Bordeaux varieties by Victor Palencia from a cool vintage off Trinidad Vineyard — in one of the Columbia Valley’s cooler regions — already offers age-worthy elegance. Aromas of Chukar Cherry, red currant and cedar include a hint of saddle leather and a light vanilla note. Its sophisticated structure comes with flavors of Bing cherry and cassis wrapped in fascinating tannins, capped by black pepper, black olive and chocolate.
