By Great Northwest Wine on October 8, 2015
Best Buy! Founding winemaker Eric Rindal trained John Freeman to take over for him at this Walla Walla Valley landmark winery, and the tradition of quality wine at affordable prices continues. Fruit came from Canyon Ranch Vineyard near Prosser, an estate planting for Precept, and Mirage Vineyard near Pasco, which combine to create aromas of blueberry and pomegranate with dark chocolate and toast notes. Inside, there’s a smooth entry of Van cherry, blackberry pie and white pepper, backed by solid tannins and juicy acidity. Suggested pairings include beef or Copper River salmon.
