Northwest Cellars 2012 Coyote Canyon Vineyard Merlot, Horse Heaven Hills, $32
By Great Northwest Wine on October 9, 2015
Washington grower Mike Andrews sells most of his fruit to Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, but Kirkland vintner Robert Delf taps into Coyote Canyon Vineyard to produce small lots of award-winning, vineyard-designate wines under his Northwest Cellars label. The nose of black currant, cola, Chukar Cherry and smoke leads to rich flavors of dark cherry, currant and milk chocolate. Its smooth structure offers great texture with a finish of blueberry and Bing cherry.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 104 cases
