Crossings Winery 2012 Bubbles Sparkling Estate Riesling, Snake River Valley, $30
By Great Northwest Wine on October 17, 2015
This second-generation operation brought back Boise native Neil Glancey to their winemaking team in time to rebrand the winery from Carmela to Crossings and launch this sparkling wine program from Riesling grown near King Hill in Idaho’s Snake River Valley. The nose offers a preview of what’s in store as brisk notes of dusty Granny Smith apple and lime peel lead to refreshing and mouthfilling tartnss. Fascinating mousse, a dry approach at 1% residual sugar and a lime soda finish earned this a silver medal at the 2015 Idaho Wine Competition.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 300 cases
