Dobbes Family Estate 2012 Griffin’s Cuvée Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, $45
By Great Northwest Wine on October 17, 2015
Dr. Marvin Hausman has been a longtime friend of Joe Dobbes, whose winemaking has helped bring acclaim to the Hausmans’ 35-acre Quailhurst Estate Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains during the past two decades. This marks the latest release of the annual tribute to Dobbes’ son, Griffin, and Quailhurst factors heavily into the Pinot Noir that opens with aromas of black cherry, poached plum and fig. The drink is smooth with flavors of strawberries, President plum and blueberry, backed by layered tannins and cranberry acidity.
