Ron Irvine shows his dedication to wine grapes from Vashon Island and throughout the Puget Sound American Viticultural Area in many delicious ways, including this carbonated rosé from Pinot Noir Précoce (75%) in the Skagit Valley and Chasselas off his home island. This year, he released his third playfully named bottling, and the fun begins with its alluring cherry color backed by whiffs of raspberry, cranberry, dusty black cherry and dried strawberry. There’s a match on the palate, which delivers mouth-filling mousse without the anticpated sweetness. Its purity of fruit and dry approach make the structure peppy and quite enjoyable.
