Woodinville winemaker Tim Armstrong shines again with this blend of Chardonnay (60%) from Sagecliffe Vineyards at Cave B near the Gorge Amphitheater and Viognier off Dineen Vineyard in the Yakima Valley. This annual tribute to his energetic daughters offers aromas of kiwi fruit, heirloom pear, honeydew melon, starfruit and a touch of minerality often found in white grapes from the Ancient Lakes. On the palate, the presentation early on is rich and oily with ripe Bartlett pear leading the way into crisp and focused flavors of jicama and starfruit. It’s a widely versatile white as pairing ideas range from crab legs, grilled fish and shrimp to sushi, turkey white chili and Thai food.
