Airfield Estates 2014 Moscato, Yakima Valley, $18
By Great Northwest Wine on November 21, 2015
Marcus Miller moved into larger production facility just in time to harvest the Muscat Canelli from his family’s 950-acre vineyard, one of the largest family-owned in Washington’s Yakima Valley. They increased production by 50 percent from the previous vintage and dialed down the sugar just a touch as it captures classic qualities of the grape with its theme of rosewater, lychee and clove. Solid acidity turns the residual sugar of 1.4% into a dry finish of pink grapefruit pith.
