Best Buy! This renowned Washington state producer of aromatic whites has been known to produce as many as a dozen styles Riesling in any given vintage, and the profile of this one — harvested at 21 Brix — takes on a late harvest approach. Its nose is gorgeous with hints of apricot jam, pineapple, guava, clove, mint and a whiff of caramel and botrytis. Inside, it offers baking spices with fruit cocktail flavors of pear and pineapple. The residual sugar is ample at 7% and the lengthy finish is pleasing thanks to a bit of spritzy acidity. Bring on a steamy bowl of peppery pho.
