The well-connected Huse family sources from some of the Walla Walla Valley’s top vineyards — Corliss-owned Blue Mountain (32%), Pepper Bridge (25%), Seven Hills (22%) and Abeja estate Heather Hill — for this dense, dark and bold Cab. The nose of huckleberry, black currant, vanilla, dark chocolate, minerality and spice leads to a flavors of blackberry, dark cherry, black currant and cola. Plum skin tannins, boysenberry acidity and Earl Grey tea combine for a juicy and long finish. The future bodes well for this, and it earned a silver medal at the 2015 Walla Walla Valley Wine Competition – an annual judging that funds scholarships for Walla Walla Community College’s Center for Enology & Viticulture.
