By on December 6, 2015

horan-estates-winery-duet-bottleThe second generation takes this Cashmere, Wash., winery into its second decade of production, and this blend of Sèmillion (79%) and Sauvignon Blanc is the rare wine that’s not from the family’s Westhill Vineyard in the Frenchman Hills. Notes from the Sauvignon Blanc scream out from the aromas of gooseberry with lime and Granny Smith apple, backed by some nuttiness from the oak program. Inside, the Sèmillion takes over with flavors of lemon curd and more toastiness that are framed by enjoyable midpalate creaminess and bright acidity, backed by grassiness and a food-friendly yellow grapefruit pith finish.
