Northwest Cellars 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, $32
By Great Northwest Wine on December 6, 2015
Kirkland vintner Robert Delf sources from Double Canyon in the Horse Heaven Hills, Spofford Station in the Walla Walla Valley and Tasawik along the Snake River for this youthful and classic expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. Toasty barrel notes of dark chocolate and vanilla blend with fruity aromas of black cherry and blueberry jam backed by bell pepper and menthol. On the pour, there’s a offering of sweet Damson plum along with blackberry and more dark cherry. Nice density provided by the Petit Verdot (12%), along with the return of vanilla and milk chocolate make this a crowd pleaser.
