Spokane Cork District winemaker Brian Padrta continues his successful relationship with Pepper Bridge and Seven Hills vineyards in this well-structured Merlot that spent 20 months in 65% new French oak. Charming aromas of cherry fruit leather, dusty blueberry, vanilla, smoked vanilla bean and licorice lead to cassis and blackberry flavors. Chocolate-covered blueberries and cherry pie filling help describe the pleasing interplay of tannin and acidity. Its finish of licorice and cola makes for an ideal pairing with flank steak or a New York strip.
