One of Oregon’s largest and most important sites has devoted 16 acres to Pinot Gris, focusing on clones 146 and 152, and Jean-Michel Jussiaume presents this in an Oregon style with the focus on orchard fruit rather than tropical. Aromas of Bosc pear, Golden Delicious apple and lime peel leads to a huge burst of lime juice on the entry. Persistent starfruit flavors lead to nice roundness, pleasing complexity, and a finish of dried apricot. Suggested food pairings include fish, salads, asparagus and fresh fruit.
