Fidelitas 2013 Malbec, Red Mountain, $40
By Great Northwest Wine on March 27, 2016
Charlie Hoppes drew on Red Mountain for his 2013 Malbec, and the resulting wine offers proof why this American Viticultural Area’s vineyards are focusing more and more on red varieties. His Fidelitas bottling is faithful to the Bordeaux grape, with flavors and aromas of black plums, blackberries and black cap raspberries, It closes with grippy tannins and a last sigh of sweet dark fruit. This earned a gold medal at the 2016 Cascadia Wine Competition.
