Ponzi Vineyards 2015 Pinot Noir Rosé, Willamette Valley, $22
For the third straight vintage – each of them warmer than the next – Luisa Ponzi merits our top rating for her rosé from Pinot Noir, a blend of Dion, Merten and estate plantings nearly five decades old. It carries a gorgeous light cherry hue and hints at cherries, peach and Ambrosia Salad. The flavor profile is bright, bone-dry, fruity and juicy, starting with white strawberry and Rainier cherry transitioning to red currant and cranberry skin. The family released this in February with a slight price bump as more consumers are demanding beautiful Northwest rosés such as this.
