Patrick Merry waited until Oct. 15 to pull the trigger on this lot of Malbec from acclaimed Seven Hills Vineyard, and the grapes came in at 25 Brix. That ripeness paves the way of dark purple fruit akin to plum and black currant, joined by dark chocolate, black pepper and black olive with lime peel and sweet watermelon. The drink brings a beautiful entry of crushed purple berries, joined by a hint of moist earth. There’s a richness with firm tannins and tremendous length.
