Lauren Ashton Cellars 2014 Riesling, Columbia Valley, $18

By on April 25, 2016

Lauren Ashton Cellars Riesling labelWoodinville winemaker/Redmond dentist Kit Singh is among the branches off DeLille Cellars’ historic and talented winemaking tree. He’s made Riesling a focus at his own project, and he presents it in a pleasantly dry fashion. The nose offers fresh-cut apple, river rock, jasmine tea, lime zest and dusty minerality. Inside, there’s a gorgeous entry of Granny Smith apple, pear and apricot, backed up by clean acidity. Lavender and steely minerality add to the classic finish of a Riesling that offers virtually no perceptible sweetness (0.4%).
