Burnt Bridge Cellars 2013 Les Collines Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Walla Walla Valley, $40
By Great Northwest Wine on April 28, 2016
The first urban winery in Vancouver, Wash., since Fort Vancouver invested rather heavily in this Cab, starting with one of the Walla Walla Valley’s top sites and following that with 22 months in 75% new French oak. Hence, there’s an early greeting of dark chocolate, but there also are aromatics of blackberry jam, black currant and black cherry cola amid a background of moist earth. The pour brings a flood of dark plum, black cherry and blackberry flavors, framed by espresso ground tannins that give it firmness from start through its finish of bittersweet chocolate.
Rating: Outstanding!
Production: 100 cases
Alcohol: 15.1%
