Northwest Totem Cellars 2012 Grenache, Yakima Valley, $39
By Great Northwest Wine on May 22, 2016
Mike Sharadin, tutored by longtime Woodinville winemaker Cheryl Jones, has worked with Grenache from the Yakima Valley for a decade – and it shows. High-toned red fruit aromas of cassis, pie cherry and red strawberry are joined by pink peppercorns and cocoa. There are darker fruit tones on the palate as black cherry and plum flavor gather up good acidity and firm tannins, capped by golden raspberry in the finish. No need to worry about TCA because Northwest Totem uses the stylish Vino-Seal glass stopper.
