Burnt Bridge Cellars 2013 Blend O Red, Walla Walla Valley, $40
By Great Northwest Wine on June 9, 2016
The “O” in this blend of Bordeaux varieties from Les Collines Vineyard stands for Oregon, and the team at this Vancouver, Wash., urban winery produced outstanding results with its 22-month barrel program of 100% Oregon oak. (Three of the five casks were new.) The blend of Cabernet Sauvigon (40%), Merlot (40%) and Cabernet Franc exudes aromas of cherry pipe tobacco, cinnamon, cedar and cola with ample fruit notes of ripe plum and Marionberry. There’s bold and energetic fruit on the entry with cassis, huckleberry syrup and blackberry. Its beautiful structure allows for hints of orange zest, rose hips, ground savory and white pepper.
Rating: Outstanding!
Production: 125 cases
Alcohol: 15%
