Kit Singh’s GSM-style bottling of Grenache (34%), Syrah (33%) and Mourvèdre (33%) from Ambassador and den Hoed vineyards serves as yet another example of his skilled use of barrel and blending at his Woodinville winery. There’s a greeting of blueberry jam on toast and black pepper in the nose, which leads to more of the same on the palate. The juicy profile of red currant and Marionberry pushes the tannins well into the background, allowing for each of the Rhône varieties to be nicely represented. Suggested pairings include chicken rubbed with Herbs de Provence and served with root vegetables.
