Jones of Washington 2015 Riesling, Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley, $10

By on June 23, 2016

jones-of-washington-riesling-nv-bottleBest Buy! Columbia Basin winemaker Victor Palencia makes more than 1 million cases of wine for his happy clients, but he also crafts relatively small lots of superb juice for his boss – Jones of Washington. The Quincy family’s 2 Gun Vineyard grows marvelous Riesling, and this serves as a quintessential Washington Riesling – led by tropical aromas with hints of Ambrosia Salad and apricot. The flavors remain fruit-driven, but they mimic Golden Delicious apple, Asian pear and more apricot. A steady stream of citrusy acidity seems to push the residual sugar below 1 percent, but the chemistry reads 2 percent.

Rating: Outstanding!

Production: 1,787 cases

Alcohol: 12.7%
