By Great Northwest Wine on October 2, 2016
Red Mountain recently added another father/son winemaking team — Phil and Ethen Warren — and they’ve combined for this intense yet easy-drinking blend of Cabernet Franc (35%), Syrah (30%), Merlot (30%) and Petit Verdot (5%). Enticing tones of cocoa-dusted Chukar Cherry, blueberry, plum and vanilla are packaged within mild tannins. Finishing notes of Rainier cherry and rhubarb pie make for beautiful balance and a rich sendoff. The Warrens enjoy drinking this on their patio overlooking the Yakima River with chunks of Cougar Gold cheese, but smoked Gouda will be easier to find.
