Eufloria by Pacific Rim Winemakers NV Aromatic Rosé, Washington, $11
Best Buy! Created in a blush style, this might not hold as much appeal to those who seek out rosés inspired by Provence, but Pacific Rim in Washington’s Columbia Valley offers this pink quaffer that serves as a fruity introduction for those just becoming interested in wine. It’s built almost entirely upon aromatic white varieties — Riesling (54%), Muscat (30%) and Gewürztraminer — while the use of Malbec (2%) adds the color and just a nip of food-friendly tannin to tighten up the finish. Its nose is insanely fun, akin to a bowl of fruit salad with aromas of black currant, Rainier cherry, melon, peach and rosewater. Inside are delicious flavors of strawberry, juicy nectarine and Jolly Rancher grape candy. At 1.3% residual sugar, enjoy this well-chilled and pair with suggested fare such as a spring salad, grilled fish or roasted pork loin. These wines are available at select grocers nationwide as well as online.
