Jim Sanders has focused on Burgundy varieties grown in Oregon’s North Willamette Valley for his impressive program at Aubichon Cellars, however, he and co-owner Tom Moritmer reached across the state into the Walla Walla Valley and “The Rocks” for this three-barrel lot of Grenache. The predominantly neutral French oak program imparts baking spice and caramel notes into the delicious and juicy approach of blueberry and pomegranate. It’s precise and tasty with a rub of lavender in the background. These wines can be experienced at the Le Cadeau Tasting Room in Dundee next to Babica Hen Café.
