The Gladhart family’s 35-acre pocket in the higher elevations of the Dundee Hills seems to suit grapes native to Burgundy, and understated Pinot Blanc does deliciously well here. In the warm vintage of 2015, these berries were harvested Oct. 3, and a percentage of the pressed wine made it into neutral oak, leading to aromas of butter and vanilla with fruitiness of Asian pear and Golden Delicious apple. The prevention of malolactic fermentation means there’s mouthfilling acidity behind the rich entry of pear butter and melon. Granny Smith apple tartness makes for a clean finish to go along with a touch of tropical. These wines are available only at the winery. Enjoy with albacore tuna.
