As has become tradition, Chateau Ste. Michelle and Maryhill Winery are using the final week of Washington Wine Month to begin the promotion of their annual summer concert series.
Headliners at Chateau Ste. Michelle include Jackson Browne, Sheryl Crow, John Fogerty, Gipsy Kings, Lyle Lovett & His Large Band, Peter Frampton with longtime Northwest resident Steve Miller, Yes and ZZ Top.
On the dramatic edge of the Columbia Gorge, Maryhill owners Craig and Vicki Leuthold will stage three shows — Chris Isaak on June 16, Michael Franti with Spearhead on June 17 and Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite on Aug. 25. Each of those acts also will appear at Ste. Michelle as part of their Northwest tours.
This year, the Woodinville icon opens its 34th annual Summer Concert Series on June 10 with Ian Anderson Presents: Jethro Tull’s 50th Anniversary Tour — a year after Ste. Michelle toasted its own golden anniversary.
Tickets are available to the public through Ticketmaster starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31. Many of the shows sell through quickly because of Ste. Michelle’s 10,000-member wine club, and presale of some concerts opens up to those members on Wednesday, March 28.
Chateau Ste. Michelle plans to stage 24 concerts from June 1 through Sept. 15 at its 4,300-seat outdoor amphitheater. There could be more shows to come for the tree-lined venue, particularly for the middle weekends in August.
For blues artists Harper and Musselwhite, the Northwest tour will be in support of their No Mercy in This Land, which is set to drop March 3. The duo won a 2014 Grammy for their Billboard-topping Get Up! album.
Maryhill Winery built amphitheater in 2003

Maryhill will post presale info to its Facebook fans at 10 a.m. Thursday. Tickets are available at maryhillwinery.com or Ticketmaster (800-745-3000) on Friday with prices ranging from $42 to $85. Presale for Maryhill’s wine club opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The Leutholds opened their winery in 2001 and — with the help of winemaker Richard Batchelor — have grown it to become one of Washington’s largest and most successful brands, producing 80,000 cases annually. Their amphitheater, which opened in 2003, helped Maryhill become one of the state’s most-visited winery destinations.
In 2015, Wine Press Northwest magazine named Maryhill its Pacific Northwest Winery of the Year, a year after the San Francisco International Wine Competition singled out Maryhill as its winery of the year. Last fall, they opened a satellite tasting room in their hometown of Spokane at Kendall Yards, which overlooks the Spokane River.
Ste. Michelle concerts serve as fundraisers

Net proceeds from the Chateau Ste. Michelle series provide assistance to more than 400 non-profit organizations.
All shows feature general festival seating on the lawn, as well as reserved seating. Performances take place regardless of weather.
The Chateau Ste. Michelle wine shop is open before all concerts with wine and picnic items available for purchase. Food vendors will offer a selection of menu items for sale in the amphitheater.
Concert-goers may also bring their own picnic baskets and non-alcoholic beverages. (The Washington State Liquor Control Board requires that all alcoholic beverages consumed on the winery grounds be purchased at the winery.)
