Heritage by Browne Family Vineyards 2016 Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, $17
By Great Northwest Wine on April 28, 2018
Created and priced for restaurant sales, Waterbrook winemaker John Freeman works with the Willard family in the Yakima Valley to create the Heritage tier for Browne Family Vineyards and Precept CEO Andrew Browne. The eight months in 26% new French oak barrels leads to aromas of almond extract, piña colada and tangerine, followed by round flavors of pear and almond. The wood influence allows for notes of minerality and lime in the finish. The scale of production indicates how serious Precept is taking this project.
