Milbrandt Vineyards 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, $17
By Great Northwest Wine on May 4, 2018
The ripe bounty of the Wahluke Slope seems always to be on display with any Milbrandt family bottling, and their entry-level Cab is no different, especially with the inclusion of some luscious Syrah (20%). It’s youthful, fruit-forward and rich with sweet blue fruit notes of blackcurrant, blueberry and plum. Vanilla and Baker’s chocolate are met with fine-grained upper tannins, raspberry acidity and a finish of cocoa powder. Enjoy with Butch Milbrandt’s recipe for Anything Goes Spicy Sausage Salad.
