Maryhill Winery 2015 Northridge Vineyard Syrah, Wahluke Slope, $40
By Great Northwest Wine on June 14, 2018
One of Jerry Milbrandt’s prized sites, Northridge Vineyard on the warm Wahluke Slope, is the source of these premium grapes that resulted in this best-of-class winner. It’s a Syrah that shows off delectable blackberries, infused with peppery blueberries. The acid is spot-on and shares the background with the most delicate (yet present) oak influence. This won a gold medal and best of class at the 2018 Cascadia International Wine Competition.
