eye of the needle enlightened reserve red wine 2013 bottle - Eye of the Needle Winery 2013 Enlightened Reserve Red Wine, Walla Walla Valley, $35Woodinville vintner Bob Bullock works with a variety of winemakers for his brand, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. These two barrels represent a Meritage-style blend of Merlot (34%), Malbec (25%), Petit Verdot (24%) and Carménère that’s deep, bold and a touch hedonistic. Ripe aromas and flavors of macerated cherries and Tootsie Roll Blue Raspberry Frooties gather up some oak toast along with tannins that continue to flex some muscle. Sales support the Bullocks’ philanthropic efforts, including Northwest Harvest.
