Stina’s Cellars 2014 Tempranillo, Wahluke Slope $28
By Great Northwest Wine on August 16, 2018
Puget Sound winemaker Perry Preston is establishing a nice tradition with Tempranillo, an early-ripening red variety native to Spain that has no trouble growing on the warm Wahluke Slope. Exotic florals of violet and patchouli include toasted almond and brambleberries. Tamed tannins allow for an easy enjoyment of blueberry and juicy pomegranate, which make for a long finish that includes molasses and vanilla.
