While longtime wine salesman Thomas Vogele continues to expand the scope of Wines by Luke via his DrinkSpace group, he remains devoted to Wahluke Slope vineyard sources and collaborating with the team at Wahluke Wine Co. Inviting notes of clove, blueberry, black cherry and chalkboard dust make their way to the palate. Well-managed tannins and juicy purple fruit tones lead out with charming coffee notes. Vogele, whose work résumé includes Gallo, Trinchero and Mondavi, has this brand in more than 35 states, and it’s been on a rocket ship since its debut 2012 vintage, growing from 700 cases to more than 8,000 cases from the crush of 2016.
Production: 5,113 cases
