Elevation Cellars 2017 Imperium Riesling, Columbia Valley, $18

By on August 28, 2018

Few of the more than 50 wineries in Woodinville’s renowned Warehouse District have earned acclaim for their work with Riesling, but Steven Stuart has made it a focus at Elevation Cellars. And a key has been his relationship with the Lawrence family’s Corfu Crossing Vineyard, a planting at nearly 1,700 feet elevation that dates back to 2003 along the Royal Slope north of the Saddle Mountains in the Columbia Basin. Stuart’s latest expression is regal drink that’s close to bone-dry with bright citrusy aromatics and lime, apricot and peach flavors. This spring, it received a gold medal at the 2018 Cascadia International Wine Competition.
