One of the best Petite Sirahs being crafted in the Northwest is this stout red from this small producer in the North Cascade town of Plain (with a tasting room in Leavenworth). It opens with classic aromas of new leather, ripe plum sauce and spicy oak, followed by rich flavors of cherry pipe tobacco, blackberry cobbler, black licorice and black tea. It’s all backed up with sturdy tannins that meld with the fruit in perfect harmony. This won a gold medal at the 2018 Wenatchee wine competition.
