Gård Vintners 2014 Lawrence Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley $35
By Great Northwest Wine on March 12, 2019

Walla Walla winemaker Aryn Morell presents a long-lived clonal selection of Cabernet Sauvignon from two of the Lawrence family’s sites – Corfu Crossing and Laura Lee – in the proposed Royal Slope American Viticultural Area. A third of these Clone 6 lots saw fermentation in concrete before spending 20 months in 40% new oak. Dark cherry, blueberry, clove and chalkboard dust aromas dive into a mouth-filling blend of blackcurrant and black cherry with age-worthy plum skin tannins, blueberry acidity and a lasting lick of cola. Their wines are available across the state at their tasting rooms in Woodinville, Ellensburg and Walla Walla.
