There’s no Pinot Noir planted in Youngberg Hill’s 5-acre Aspen block, named for one of Wayne and Nicolette Bailey’s daughters, but half of it is devoted to the two clones that combine for this glorious Pinot Gris from the McMinnville American Viticultural Area. Fascinating aromas of lime, tangerine, jasmine and Juniper Ridge Douglas Fir Spring Tip Tea lead to tropical yet dry flavors. Hints of banana, pineapple and jackfruit pick up tangerine acidity, backed by Granny Smith apple peel and lime candy. A remarkable level of depth makes this charming quaffer.
