As the winemaker for the reigning Oregon Winery of the Year for Wine Press Northwest magazine, Ariel Eberle works with lots of Dijon clone 76 and 95 harvested on Oct. 16 from vines planted in 2005 for Yamhill Valley Vineyards. There’s restraint with French oak, allowing for aromas of cantaloupe and starfruit with spearmint and lemongrass in the background. That cantaloupe leads the entry and rich mouth feel to the flavors as lemon oil in the finish makes for a deliciously versatile Chardonnay.
