Dusted Valley Vintners 2017 StoneTree Vineyard Squirrel Tooth Alice Red Wine, Wahluke Slope, $45
By Great Northwest Wine on September 8, 2019

For the third straight vintage, Dusted Valley sticks with Grenache in the lead and StoneTree Vineyard as the source for the GSM-blend these Wisconsin natives have named for a long-lived madam from Texas. The formula of Grenache (71%), Syrah (15%) and Mourvèdre (14%) spent a year in neutral French oak puncheons, leading to enticing aromas of chocolate chip cookie dough with black cherry and dried fig. Nicely managed Fine-grained tannins allow for delicious flavors of plum and cherry cola.
